Between You and Me

Many people—ourselves included—believe that God shows up in those moments of joyful connection. Those rich and rewarding moments completely transcend religious boundaries. They show up in tender moments between children and parents, between lovers, among friends.

In this book, through photography, prose, and poetry, we celebrate those joyful moments.

The idea of conspiring generally has a sinister connotation. Yet, if you examine the derivation of the word, you find that to conspire literally means “to breathe together.” What a sublime thought: to breathe with God! To me, only good can issue forth when someone breathes in concert with God.

Each time you draw a breath, you are taking in energy from the universe or what one philosopher called “the divine milieu.” (Teilhard de Chardin) Thus, conspiring with God is not difficult; in fact, you do so every day, all day. At the simplest level, the literal, one conspires with God by breathing.

Featured in this book will be a mom who has done good by raising four children and is proud of who they have become. Another person does good in the world via participation in a small community orchestra. She describes her talent as minimal, but her community loves the orchestra. A third person has been disabled most of her life yet finds ways to help others on a daily basis. Another makes but $35,000/year but still ministers to the poor every week; she does not consider herself poor at all. An executive coach tells—through poetry—how she helped a Type A client work through his terror of retirement. Finally, a CEO writes about his having created a wholesome workplace that people love to come to each day.

This book will be illustrated with my artwork.
